Mohammad Rezaei

Mohammad Rezaei was an assistant professor of sociology at the Department of Sociology (Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran). He, also, directed Postgraduate Program at the University of Science and Culture in Tehran for 5 years, and was one of the founders and the head of the department of Cultural Studies at that University.

His basic research interests include Media Studies, Cultural and Identity Politics, Globalization and Cultural Consumption. His writings have appeared as book chapters and as articles in journals such as Iranian Journal of Sociology, Journal of Social Science, Asian Social Science, and Journal of National Studies. His books are State hegemony in crisis: A case study of Iran (Society and Culture Pub., 2007) and Fractures in Iranian Society (Agah Pub. 2016). He is currently working on young women's agency and resistance in Iran.
