Marwan Abou-Taam

Dr. Marwan Abou-Taam is a scholar of Islamic Studies and Political Science. Born in Beirut/Lebanon, he took his PhD under Bassam Tibi at the University of Göttingen, submitting a dissertation on Islamist terrorism. He works at the Landeskriminalamt (LKA, State Criminal Investigation Department) Rhineland-Palatinate, with a focus on Islamist extremism, Salafism/jihadism, and internal security.
Dr. Marwam Abou-Taam is an associated member of the Institut für empirische Integrations- und Migrationsforschung (BIM, Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration Research) at the Humboldt University Berlin. Since 2014 he has also been a visiting lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences (MUAS) in Munster.
